Sealing leaky air ducts in a home ventilation system can be done through a number of different methods. Many of these are messy and time-consuming, and they often won’t seal up all the leaks. However, the methods that professionals use for duct sealing have improved over the years. Now, thanks to the development of the patented Aeroseal Duct Sealing technology, trained technicians can offer a level of effectiveness for ventilation system sealing greater than ever before.

Aeroseal technology is a breakthrough in duct sealing that takes away the mess that comes with using adhesive metallic tape and sticky mastic glues applied with a caulking gun. Instead of approaching the ducts from the outside to apply tapes and sealants, Aeroseal approaches the leaks from ¬within.
The process works like this: Certified technicians first close off the ventilation system by plugging the room vents. They then inject a non-toxic sealant into the ductwork, which is made of small polymer particles. The particles move toward spots where air is escaping the ducts through leaks. The particles adhere to the leaks and to each other, eventually closing off the leak entirely. It only requires about 1 to 2 oz. of sealant to successfully fix all the leaks. The technicians then provide a detailed report of the results to show how well the Aeroseal process worked at restoring the airtightness of the home’s ventilation system.
